Terms of service

definition of services 

 

  1. Housekeeping is defined as the provision of a clean, tidy and aesthetically appealing environment within functional areas of the home such as vacuuming, dusting, wiping, mopping, light laundry.

  2. Deep cleaning is separate from regular cleaning.

  3. Intensive or specialized cleaning of additional rooms or areas, often conducted according to a special schedule or on a project basis. 

  4. The pantry for cleaning agents & equipment; supplies, linens, dry goods and food requires additional hours of organization & tidying.

  5. Inventory - stock and merchandise of food and/or goods in-the-home required or needed at all times. 

  6. Linens - to be sent out for laundering. Items folded and stored.

  7. Vanitya wash basin and mirror, surrounded by a flat area where soap, shaving items, and toothbrush glasses are kept. What needs attention above or inside the vanity cupboards and drawers.  

  8. Damp or dry dust- use of a feather duster or damp cloth

  9. Sanitary bins - bed and bath bins emptied & rinsed

  10. Fresh Towels - specific folding and hanging instructions

Cleaning Products

  1. Do you provide specific types of products to use for cleaning?

  2. Are you in agreement for me to use natural cleaners such as vinegar, baking soda and/or salt in toilets, tubs and sinks?

  3. Mops, brooms, scrubbing utensils provided? 

  4. Do you require use of disinfectants? If so what brands or types?

  5. Do you require your helpers to wear masks?

Special care surfaces & household items

  1. Do you provide specific types of products to use for cleaning?

  2. Are you in agreement for me to use natural cleaners such as vinegar, baking soda and/or salt in toilets, tubs and sinks?

  3. Mops, brooms, scrubbing utensils provided? 

  4. Do you require use of disinfectants? If so what brands or types?

  5. Do you require special wood, marble or granite cleaners?

  6. Do you require your helpers to wear masks? 

  7. Do you have insurance in the event an item is broken?

Hours, Cancellations & Termination

  1. ​Do you require set hours for cleaning or are you flexible?

  2. Do you prefer weekdays or weekends or a bit of both?

  3. Do you prefer evenings or daylight hours?

  4. In the event of bad weather, illness or traffic snarls are you flexible to reschedule another date & time?

  5. In the event you no longer require my services how much advance notice are you prepared to offer?

  6. In the event I must terminate my employment with you what are your expectations of me? Time allowance of written notice

Light Housekeeping​

~ standard home cleaning package ~

​

  1. Fill the dishwasher 

  2. Empty the dishwasher 

  3. Put away the dishes

  4. Hand wash dishes (as required)

  5. Take out the trash

  6. Clean your bathrooms (2 max)

  7. Wipe counters, sink, mop floor 

  8. Vacuum and/or mop 

  9. Make beds (2-3 max)

  10. Light dry dusting & tidying

  11. Do 1 -2 loads of laundry per visit

  12. Water plants

  13. Sweep deck or patio

  14. Arrange flowers or plant decorations

Deep Cleaning


What is considered "deep cleaning?" I view the following as "deep cleaning."

  1. Fireplace cleaning

  2. Attics, basements & storage

  3. Garage clean up & re-organize

  4. Windows washed

  5. Cleaning inside & behind fridge

  6. Cleaning inside & behind oven

  7. Carpet cleaning

  8. Inside closet re-organize & clean

  9. Decks which may need culling of clutter & power-washing

  10. Culling of clutter in spare rooms

  11. Office re-organization/ declutter

  12. Inside kitchen cupboard cleaning & culling

  13. Re-organizing inside of your drawers & culling items

  14. Heavy laundry - over 2 loads visit

  15. Storage locker, boats, cabins, and that sort of thing. ​
