Break your fast in the morning with something that will level out your blood-sugar. If you start out high carb or too much sugar your blood-sugar will crash. Fresh fruits such as oranges, apples, grapefruit, grapes, strawberries, blueberries... offer plentiful fiber which pushes sugar through your system. The emerald juice here is a tasty/refreshing morning drink. The only cottage cheese I use is 4%- nothing less, and I never eat or serve anything "light or diet." "Light and diet" mean less protein and more carbs.
(I should point out that it is not safe for people on heart meds to eat grapefruit. Avoid it if you are on heart medication.)
